Dissection of a Digital Illustration

The scene in Lightwave rendered

Rendering is analogous to taking a photo of your scene. This is where you get to click a button and let the computer work away. Rendering can take a LOT of computer time. But this is less of a problem as computers get faster. The computer I have now renders this scene at high resolution in less than an hour.
This is a screenshot of the same lightwave scene, with a render appearing in a separate window. Notice how the tractors and cows are floating in mid-air. For this project, the Lightwave files were rendered in the .rla format, which includes depth data. Later, this render is composited in a World Construction Set render.
