The Universe

Every direction we look out in space, we look back in time to see the origin of the universe, the Big Bang. So, in a way, we really are at the center of the universe. The pink and blue pattern represents the background cosmic radiation, left over from the big bang. National Geographic Magazine, October 1999, p.29. Modeled and rendered in form•Z, enhanced by digital painting in Metacreations Painter. Art director Chris Sloan did the conceptual sketch for this; I did the finished rendering.
